In 1256, the castle belonged to the Queralt family. In 1365, Berenguer de Llorac appears in some documents as owner of the castle as well as Bernat d'Anglesola , in 1439. Five years later, the Biure family controlled the area until 1515, when they sold their rights to the Armengol family that kept them until the end of the Feudalism. |

January. Cavalcade of the Three Wise Men, on the night of the 5th , organised by the Comissió de Festes de Nadal i Reis. February. Carnival parade, with carriages and disguised people. Great dinner and contest for the best three disguises (in group and individually). June. Sant Joan's Celebration Day. The oldest Joan in town lights the bonfire. Coca, wine and dance for everybody. July. Biking trip to Andorra osganised by the Secció Ciclista. On Sant Cristòfol's Day there is a blessing parade for all the vehicles in town.
September. Celebration of La Diada ( Day of Catalonia). Procession of La Santa Creu. October. Homage to the elderly. All Saints Day celebration on the 31st. December. Caga Tió( log that yields presents when beaten by children) and Patge Faruk, organised by the Comissió de Festes de Nadal i Reis. |

The castle is in the highest part of town. Its current shape is due to the renovations made in the nineteen sixties. The castle is a private property. The wall that faces the Conesa road could probably be part of the original building.
The town hall was built in the twenties. Its most remarkable element is the façade that displays curious graffito. Cal Claret is a mansion that clearly evokes the Cuban colonial architecture. |
